Underground Mining Areas

In areas of historical underground mining activity, it is not unusual for local authorities to prohibit the building of traditional brick veneer and full brick homes. There can be concerns about the weight of such buildings over mineshafts and  unstable ground.

The ABC System can allow for a brick home to be built in such areas.

Volatile Soils

Large areas of populated Australia are on clay soils.

And many of these areas are prone to prolonged drought.

The two in combination are not good news for brick walls. The clay shrinks during the drought and then expands suddenly when the rains fall. The movement in the foundation soil will often result in severe cracking in full-brick and brick-veneer walls, both external and internal.

Its light weight and ability to withstand and absorb movement without cracking makes The ABC System the ideal solution in these areas.
