The graphic shows installation of The ABC System typical to
most Asian markets.
Plywood is sometimes applied to the timber frame as a brace.
This will generally be done only where local regulations make it
necessary and the bracing qualities of the ABC System Rail have not
been fully recognised.
Sisalation (also known variously as builder's paper, sarking
and, in Japan, housewrap) is placed over the ply to provide
insulation and waterproofing.
The System Rail is nailed to the timber frame over, and through,
the ply and sisalation.
Brick facings and corners are installed into the rail and then
mortared.
The end result - brickwork, except that it is stronger, more
durable and much lighter than traditional brickwork and it did not
need a bricklayer to install it!
